Ive noticed almost all of our hoods stick up on the sides, and most are higher on the pass side [like mine] Whats the deal with that?
Mine has the stiffeners on it too.
NewUser got a new hood and his even sticks up.
Thats what got me to thinking about this...

mine sticks up because the hinges are junk and the whole front end needs aligned(not to mention my rad support bushings are not installed)

Mine is kinked just a bit on the driver's side, but I don't have stiffeners. When I first bought it, it was straight, but I caught an oil bottle or something against the windshield closing it up, and that caused it to kink.

It is possible to adjust the hinges. Given the general age of our trucks, other issues (i.e. body mount rot or just plain rust) likely affect body panel alignment all over the vehicle... but you can loosen the bolts holding the hinge to the quarter panel and scoot it down.

Like all such adjustments, it's time consuming. I seem to recall doing the sixpack after the engine swap, as I'd removed the hood for the swap, and maybe replaced one or both of the hinges... and it took a while. Tweak one side a bit, go back to the other, go back to the first, etc. Seems like there's both vertical and, err, logitudinal (i.e. front-to-back) adjustment possible.

Why the passenger side is higher I donno; could be just be that the trucks have largely had a driver only in them, so they list to the left =)) It's like the low-back buckets for the 70's; the driver's side frames are invariably broken inside but the passenger ones are generally intact. (The driver's seat and side of the truck presumably gets more use than the passenger =))
