I'm having issues with the bracket Hooker supplied me with to re-attach the factory alternator bracket back to the headers:mad:. I'm starting to wonder if the motor is the factory 1989 350:eek1:. Does anyone have a picture of an 89 350 motor? If so do you have a picture showing the alternator/power steering bracket on the driver side. It would be MUCH appreciated!!!

Mine's a '90, it should be similar if not the same.

I have an 89 blazer and it is the same as the pic Rene posted. 1989 was the first year of the serpentine belt and there is one aluminum bracket on each side of the engine, the driver side in question holds the power steering pump on the bottom and the alternator on the top and this bracket bolts only to the front of the block and head. There is a bracket off the back of the power steering pump that also bolts to the front two exhaust bolts and when installing a header you should have been supplied with two spacers to take up the thickness difference between the stock exhaust manifold and the header flange thickness so that support bracket will bolt back correctly.
