Hello,
How the heck do you guys hook up your kick down cables? I can't get the cable to go onto the wire sticking out of the tranny.
Thanks
Adam

Drop the pan? Why? I've never had to drop the pan, I always hook the end of the kick-down cable to the wire first then feed the cable up the firewall to the carb second. Works out great that way.

How would you do that? There's all a funky bend at the top of the wire that I can't get the hole to loop around.
Thanks
Adam

No, you don't have to drop the pan.

If you have already hooked the cable up at the top of the engine, disconnect it.

Then go down to the tranny and pull the cable out of the sleeve. It should pull out a couple inches. That should be all you need to hook it to the arm sticking up out of the hole that the kick donw cable goes into. Yo may need to use a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the little arm up a bit so you can hook the cable to it.

Once you have the cable hooked to the arm, bolt the cable to the tranny (the little 3/8" bolt) Then fish it up to where it bracket is on top of the engine. Hook it up.
