hooking up msd 6al and ignition control

Yup! You need PN's 8860 and 8861 to get all to work. As ^^^^He said, Figure 9 all the way. BTW 8861 replaces the module in the distributor.

so that is where I was confused.... 8861 replaces.. thus I dont have one so that is partially what was getting me.. thanks...

well i took it apart.... there are 3 loops that you cut depending on your config..8 cyl cut none.... 6 cyl cut 1... 4 cyl cut 2... idiot cut all 3..so there is no way it worked for the guy... he also didnt just cut them.. he ripped them out...
well I opened it up..
there are 2 red wires.. ok got to solder them, 2 blue got to solder them... then there are 2 white wires that i cant find... so now I have to figure out what they are...do they jump the blue and red?? dunno.....well I got the ignition control that he never used so have to take it apart.. but I dont have the right torques.....

Send it back to MSD, they'll re-do the wires and bench test it for a small fee. I did it to mine because it was firing a 2.5L S-10. It's now firing the same S-10 but 5.7L.
