maybe its about 1/2 way down my drive shaft, my custom xmember goes across the frame for the rear body mounts of the cab. there were about 3 inchs inbetween the driveline and x member. so i notched it out some anybody think this could still cause a problem

ive been trying
do you adjust the size in the pic or on the camera??
think my drive line will clear the xmember when suspension is compressed

I would notch that cross beam for better clearance - I think it will hit the way it is currently configured. Better yet, notch it and make a drive shaft hoop while you're at it.

Search for the resizing info; you can prolly do it in PaintBrush depending on your version of Windows. Your camera prolly also came with software to do it.

I have attached smaller ones for our viewing pleasure.

I think the kicker is how far forward the drive shaft goes; I have less clearance than that on my front shaft to my doubler crossmember, for instance, but that's right by the end of the shaft.

I can't tell from your pix, but if the crossmember is close to the end of the shaft, I don't see the thing hitting even under compression.

OTOH, if it's in the middle and you're gonna have crazy flex up on both sides at once, maybe.

EDIT: Mouse has a point (Mouse, do you make movies of the girl in the red dress, a la The Matrix? :D) ... I wouldn't notch it 'cuz it would weaken it, but notching + driveshaft hoop would be as strong or better, and keep the thing from flying off on the oops.

I resize all mine in paint.
Copy the picture into paint.
Go up to image.
scroll down to stretch/skew.
And in the stretch box change the 2 that say 100% to something lower.
Click ok
close box
save pic

i'll try notching it out and reinforcing the top of it with some angle iron or somthing. and make a loop too
