Search for the resizing info; you can prolly do it in PaintBrush depending on your version of Windows. Your camera prolly also came with software to do it.

I think the kicker is how far forward the drive shaft goes; I have less clearance than that on my front shaft to my doubler crossmember, for instance, but that's right by the end of the shaft.
I can't tell from your pix, but if the crossmember is close to the end of the shaft, I don't see the thing hitting even under compression.
OTOH, if it's in the middle and you're gonna have crazy flex up on both sides at once, maybe.

) ... I wouldn't notch it 'cuz it would weaken it, but notching + driveshaft hoop would be as strong or better, and keep the thing from flying off on the oops.
