Horn/Dim short circuit frustration. (SOLVED!)

Oh man. Glad you got it fixed, wish I could have been there. I read the post earlier, but was in a hurry and could not jump in.

When I read it, I thought why the heck do I not get easy problems like that......

Constant dead shorts are easy. I love 'em.
Its the intermittent ones that will drive you crazy.

Mentioned the one before on my old Jeep, that took, I think, 5 years to find.

I was going to post the procedure when I had a chance to help you find it. But, you had to go and find it first.

And yeah, a dime in the lighter will give you fits.
I had just the opposite at a cell phone center parking lot one day.

My 11th grade art teacher pulled in as I was coming out of the store. Her cell phone would not charge.
I mentioned that if she did not have an appointment, it would be a couple of hours since there was a long line.

Told her I would be glad to look at it for her.

She was a little leery, she had not seen me since the 11th grade, and she was not sure she wanted me working on her phone.

I assured her I was a graduate engineer now and could fix it.

Plugged it into her car, no charge. Plugged it into mine, it charged.
Whipped out my......penlight, looked down into her socket.

Started looking around the parking lot on the ground. Found a small stick. Took my pocket knife and sharpened the end of it.

She was really getting a little nervous by now.

Eased the sharp stick into the lighter socket, made a little stabbing motion, and pulled out a small wadded up chewing gum wrapper, made out of waxed paper.
It was keeping the plug from making contact.
After that, her phone charged fine.

And yeah, she was still hot after all those years...........
