Okay, got some hard core tech here for ya guys.
Big Ugly's horn has died. Well, it's not working and I don't know why. I push the button on the wheel and there's a click under the dash in front of me. From experience with my Suzukis that situation usually means the horn itself is dead and everything else is doing it's job...so I think I need a new horn. Right?
Nothing worse than someone doing something stupid in traffic and all you can do is flip them off knowing that they're so oblivious to the world around them they didn't even see you do it.
Where is the horn anyways?
I have a few horns left over from previous vehicles/projects so I was thinking I'd replace the defective horn (assuming it is) with one or two of them. Maybe run high and low tone horns at the same time just for something different.
Just for ****s and grins I disconnected the Tracker's horn and set another horn next to it, made a jumper wire, and ran one of the Tracker's wires to each of the horns and then the jumper between the two. In my mind that should make them both go off. Neither worked right, one sorta went off but it's kinda old. However both worked fine when they were the only horn hooked up.
Am I doing something wrong or is this just the Tracker having a small charging system and not being able to power both horns while not running?
What is the proper way to hook up two regular horns?
Anyone got any recommendations on simple but loud horns? Not looking for anything special like those train horns or the compressor powered ones. Wouldn't even mind something out of the junkyard as I've heard some that I really liked. My Ranger had a nice tone to it and so do the 88+ GM fullsize IFS truck horns.
