Horn wires?

So, I took both horns off the radiator support to clean and paint that ahead of doing the same for the grille.

The driver's side horn had no wires on it. OK...a magical, cordless horn! Anyone want to buy?

Anyway, the passenger side had just one wire...and the horn has never worked well anyway.

How many wires should there be to the horns? Where do they run to? I think I may have found my system drain, but in either case, i think this all simply needs to get fixed. Thoughts from anyone?

One wire (green IIRC) should go to the driver side horn then it jumps to the other. I believe it is grounded to the chassis via the mounting hardware.

OK. I was testing it without it being grounded,so that might explain why it wasn't going. I'll reconnect fully and see if that helps. I'm wondering if the paint I recoated the area with isn't allowing a ground.

I thought the horn was hot and the button grounded it . No? Maybe Chevy is different.
