I had my 350ci engine in my 88 jimmy rebuilt about four thousand miles ago. It was bored out 30 over. I was wondering how much horse power and torque the engine was putting out. I read some ware on the net that it was only putting out 180hp and not too much torque, is this true? I have 3.73 gears and a TBI gas engine if this helps any.
Thanks in advance
Brian

I used to have an 88 GMC shortbox lo-rider that I bought brand new. No laughing please

. It had the 350 TBI as well and the advertised horsepower and torque figures were: 210 HP at 4500 RPM (don't quote me on the RPMS) and 300 ft/lbs of torque at something like 3000 RPM.
That was a fun truck. 3.42's, gov-lock, 5 speed, 5 and 7" drop. Used to be able to break the tires loose in third with a fast shift. Nothing like having kids to alter your vehicular preferences.

Guess it also matters what you did to it during the rebuild........was it just a "stock" rebuild? If so, the numbers the guys quotes are probably correct.......now, if you put a cam in it, new heads, ported/polished, etc., it might be a big healthier!
