Cold starts are simple--wait for glow plug light to go out, bump starter and it runs--smoothly. Hot restarts are a different story. Fuel pedal 1/2 way to floor, lots of cranking and eevveennttuuaallyy it will start. Keep foot on throttle and it will stay running. Let pedal up and it will try to shake the body panels off of the truck, then die. Keeping engine speed at 7-800 will keep it running--quite smoothly. '84 6.2L "J" with Banks turbo. I bought it about a week and a half ago. Previous owner never encountered this problem (have absolutely no reason to doubt him). I changed the fuel filter and thought it made a difference, but not so sure now. Pressurized the fuel tank with 5psi of shop air, looked over entire feul system and found no air leaks. Same results at 10 psi. Off idle it runs fine, wouldn't even know there was a problem, but at idle one is quickly reminded. Seems to get better after driving awhile.
Any ideas??
