what is the most amount of tire i can put under a stock 1990 blazer? I have some 33 15 12.50's that I want to put under it but Im not sure if they will rub or not?

there is a sticky thread at the top of the garage with all the answers you could want :D

with 33s you may have to trim a bit

ive got a stock 1986 m1009 with sagging front springs. Im running 33-12.50 goodyear MTR's up front without issue.

33x10.5R15 with stock wheels. That size has not rubbed on any stock vehicle here AFAIK, and doesn't rub on mine. Only BFG (AT or MT KO's) and someone else (Interco?) makes tires this size that I'm aware of. BFG also makes a 9.5 in this size, not sure why you'd want that though.

33x12.5R15's are a crapshoot, and probably depends greatly on backspacing. The problem is turning, and the extra width of the 12.5 makes the tire "longer" when the wheel is turned. With the tire turned at a 45* angle, you measure from front inside corner to rear outside corner, which obviously is longer if the tire is wider.

You can calculate this (Pythagorean theorem) but square the width and "length" (12.5 squared + 33 squared for a 33x12.5 tire) to get the actual "length". In this case 35.3"

A 10.5" is 34.6".

Of course, this is assuming advertised size and actual are correct. It is obvious however, that the small amount makes a big difference.

yeah, to be fair, i dont do alot of flexing, stock suspension and dont play on the rocks (33's and 1/2 ton axles with a gov lock..... bad ju ju). But in daily driving, ive never had even the slightest issue, and honesly, when hittin the trails, i havent been really focused on tire rub, but if its done it, its never been bad enough to really grab my attention. My main issue was batteries coming loose under the hood and breaking stuff.... still need to weld up some battery boxes to keep those things in place.

again, just my personal experience, yours may vary.

I ran 35s on my k5 for a little while. No lift and stock wheels too. I did a little triming to the front and nothing to the rear and it worked pretty wells

I have 33/12.50-15 bfg alt, on old after market rims. only when i play on rocks
does it rub. no problems on street. oh stock lift.
