Wow back in the day grade 8 ment something. I stretched two of these with a regular wrench without really torquing on them.. uploadfromtaptalk1390160562341.jpg

Hey guys I had a little rough patch and had to put the project on hold. I'm getting ready to wrap it up and put this 454 in the jimmy. I'm looking for opinions and advice on a couple more things.
1. Thoughts on stock vs poly vs solid motor and transmission mounts. If you have a preferred brand what is it?

2. Dual 3" vs 3" with x pipe vs 3" with an H pipe. What exhaust style is best? What will put out the best sound and power?

Exhaust is a toss up, either X or H. H is louder(IMO) but I have seen a few dynos that show there isn't much of a difference(<5 HP). Just something to balance the exhaust pulses to help with scavenging.

Yeah that's what I'm hearing. Am I currently losing any power with my dual 3" exhaust system? From the headers back is like 4 or 5 feet long with magnaflow mufflers. I'm debating changing the exhaust but only if it's worth the money

All 454sfrom the factory are external balanced engines. They will also have a weight on the flywheel. Does yours have them?

Yes it has its balancing weights. However I know that when you put a big cam in an engine chances are it will gain a big lope and idle a little rough. Since I just added a big cam I'm just concerned that more solid motor and transmission mounts might shake my brains out at idle.

I have the competition motor mounts that two of the vendors on here sell. and a custom t-case's mounts.

Before I built the t-case mount I had the same type as the one you are looking at.

I think if you mounts are bad buy urethane ones, if you are doing it to just do it, save the effort.

Not sure I would get that type of motor mount that are on the link you posted. The trans mount will work though.

I think my transmission mounts went soft and my motor is still out sitting on the engine stand. So I was thinking while it's all out put in new stuff.

Do you have a link for mounts you would recommend?
