Hey guys,
I have an old school trailer brake device under my dash. I would like to remove it but it has a line running to the master cylinder. What do I need to do to remove it?

The line going into it has brake fluid in it.

So couple of rags. You will probably have to block off or take out a t that should be up by the brake master cylinder. That line will go from a t somewhere in the system to that controller. Most I have seen t right off the master.

Probably a stupid question, but what do I need to buy to plug the hole in the T or master cylinder?

Will I need to flush the brake lines or anything after? (or just add more fluid?)

Just take the t out and then put the stock line back in. That is how I have seen most of em done is a t right off the master then the brake controller and stock line running off the t

You will have to bleed your brakes after the fact. No real need to flush the system unless your brake fluid is way old and crappy

That is the way mine was hooked up.

Is this the T adapter that you are talking about? Its like a metal block with two hoses running into it.

When I remove the adapter, do I need a fitting for the other hose to plug into the master cylinder?

Also, do you know if there are any how-to posts on how to bleed the lines?

Thats not the tee, thats a combination valve you need to keep. The tee will be downstream of that valve.

master cyl rear line has the thread in tee fitting. pull that and take line thats kinked a bit and put back in master and blead the brakes out.

and god maitnace tip is flush the fluid every few years. old fluid looses its performance.

i had week brakes on my atv disk front/rear and all i did was flush the brakes with new fluid and :eek1: what a diffrence in pedal feel.

I got this removed today as I replaced the master cylinder. The most challenging part was properly bending a replacement steel brake line.

Thanks for the assistance!
