Just figuring out what to do for accommodations outside? I was planning on sleeping in my truck, but my spotter has decided to set up a tent instead...

How cold is it gonna be outside at night? Keep in mind that we are Canadian and are good for camping outside down to about -15F outside with the proper gear... Just need to know if we need to bring some decent gear, or if it is only gonna get down to 60F at night :haha:

I went in '03 when it was held in early October. Overnight was T shirt weather, maybe slightly cooler.

Early mornings can be a little chilly while driving with an open cab in the shadows along Kane Creek Road (tee shirt and shorts). Once you are in the sun, it's warm.

Ugh, just checked and it is like 80F right now... I get the feeling that I will be sleeping under my truck in nothing but my gitch, LOL

It can get really warm, if the days are hot wind is low, nights can be pretty warm. I hate the hot so I opted for renting a small cabin with ac. Nothing I hate worse than being hot all day and still sweating when I sleep. On the flip side I have spent many night out in my bag in negative weather. The colder the better...

If you're at the slickrock campground the "A/C" is a small swamp cooler in the window.

I've never found it uncomfortable but that may be fuzzed up a little due to some beverages.

The UA this year brought some suck. The Midwest in July was not great for sleeping.

I slept out at Powell the end of July and froze my ass off one night with just a sheet and that'll be a lot like Moab.

I predict you'll sleep like a little baby.

That thing was horrid! The plug in is right at mattress level so every time I moved it would come unplugged. Then I would get the elbow from the wife to turn it back on. Almost became comical, but we aren't staying there again.

This is why I'm bringing my cabover camper, plug it in and run the A/C all day. Plus I have a full kitchen, fridge full of beer, my own bathroom/shower etc. etc. :thumb:

The other pluses of staying at Slickrock outweigh the negatives. It's cheap, they generally don't get upset if you're working on your rig in front of your cabin and it seems to be the place the majority of the people from here stay at so you won't be the only one there.

I stayed in the cabins the first two years I went to the bash, then I bought the camper so now I just rent an RV spot.

Probably the entire fleet! LOL

The fleet is in staging:haha: Unfortunately none of them are entirely operational right now. They should all be coming out of surgery and maintenance in plenty of time though.

Maybe 'cause I am just a girl, but every night after dark and each morning until the sun gets above them canyon rims I need a sweatshirt and long pants!!

See ya at the Bash,

Nicole
