 i have a 73 blazer and i just went to a you pull it junk yard yesterday looking for a back seat. i found one out of a 78. its one of the fold up kind but i have a feeling it wasnt the orginal seat for that truck. the bolt pattern in my truck doesnt match.. whats the deal?

Different seats on newer models , the floors are different 78 and newer .
Newer floors have the rear risen floor starting farther back to have more legroom for rear seat passengers .

See if you can either unbolt the bottom bracket on the seat and swap the 73 brackets on. Or see if you can cut the 73 brackets off the old seat and weld them on the new one...

One other possibility would be to see if you can get an upholstery person to swap the foam and material from one to the other.

Yep, 73 to 77 seats are the same, 78 to 91 seats are the same. You'll notice that your 78 seat has folding hinges on the front and a lock handle on the back. The rear bed on the 78 to 91 Blazers had a sunken foot area in front of the back seat for the seat to fold into.

Unless you can somehow put your 73 mounting brackets on the other seat you are probably out of luck. Will the junkyard take it back?

I'd be interested in buying the 78 mounts if you find older mounts for your seat or if you get beater 74's seat....
