How come you never see this style of differential gaurd much anymore?

and that ladies and gentlemen is the name of the game. Its not that you cant wheel without it. but its better to buy it and not need it, than be 50 miles out in the mud and woods with a ripped open diff cover saying.. .man... i shoulda got one of them thar things :)
Thank you

making money go as far as you can???

wow, glad i didn't need to spend money of aftermarket diff covers, been using the stock ones ever since i got the truck, never had any leaks or problems with it, and it did see rock crawling, the body says so... :D

I have to trailer it about 150 miles to get to the closet place that has rocks, I would hate to have a differential cover end my day

i an NOT saying it's NOT needed, i was only commenting that i haven't needed to spend the money on something like that as of yet.

also i mentioned that i did some little tweeks to the cover on the rear to help prevent the peeling back when rocks hit them.

if you feel you need to spend the money on a diff cover guard, have at it, just saying originally, i personally don't think it's something that is primarily at the top of the list for spending money on when building a rig. ;)

If I am going to spend the money, I want a bit more fluid capacity with mine, and lots of the aftermarket ones add capacity. For an el cheapo, it would be better than nothing...

yeh i love my DIY ones. got the 14 bolt kit for the rear, and with 3" sides it hold like 8qt lol opps. and the front the flatback is sweet and doesnt interfere with the tierod.

im very responsible on rocks... i just avoid them!!!!!!! :haha:

I want one of these!!!!!!!

I have a stock front , plated , and works fine . Fronts are thicker lipped to begin with .

Rear I tried a plated stocker for so long , with the lower edge ground so its above the rear edge of the axle . Well that only last so long as the rocks get bigger . Banging and scraping to make it seal again gets old . I ended up with a BTF cover instead .

Look at the edge , was beat on from day one in my Tan K5 :pimp:

Then I painted it again and its in my truggy :pimp:
