How dissappointing......

Blazey, I truely hope you do stick around! This site, bar none, has the best people, for the most part, and the best info about our vehicles on the net. That said I am absolutely disgusted by the way you were treated. I admittenty don't post a lot (pad) But this just made me sick.

Absolutely nowere in his original post did he solisit others for parts, he merely asked if anyone knew where he could get some aftermarket seat mounts/sliders for his application! Period!!!! It may have turned into a "wanted" post, but not on his account. When I first saw this thread I thought "What the F@#K is going on here! Am I the only one that is actually reading this!!!" Then I come back a few hours later hoping some one had stepped up only to find it's DELETED!!! I'm sorry but that is crapola. I will not renew my membership as long as this s@!t goes on. You can keep it!

BACK TO THE ORIGINAL TOPIC, sorry Blazey I don't have a lot to offer other than going with a complete aftermarket seat and slider mechanisim or the junkyard route which is what I did. 95 honda civic si seats(2 door) and a fabbed up mounting. Prolly one of the better mods to date as far as comfort. Hang in there buddy, we're not all dickheads.

Did you read my post? I explained it as best I could. I (and the other moderators I believe) would have done the same even if it were an old or new member, a paying member, or even another moderator. He was treated no differently than anyone else. In fact, it's clear that paying members did feel it was a problem since I was notified to check it out... If I had found it sooner, I would have just deleted selected posts, but it was too far gone for that IMO. And, he is free to start another post to get his answers on suppliers, as long as it does not become a "can you sell me a ..." thread, and there was really no useful information that I saw in that post anyway. IMO, his post started fine, but then got way off track quickly.

[Edit] Oh, and FWIW, he ultimately did make some posts to the effect of "what will you sell me a set for?".

Russ, I wasn't implying I think you did anything wrong, and I fully understand your point, and why you deleted it. It might have helped to let him know in advance why his post was being deleted beforehand /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Don't get me wrong, it's not really any skin off my nose either way, but as I'd mentioned in previous posts, a new guy here doesn't know the "flow" of things, and I think he may have felt alittle blind-sided.

Funny you should say that. I actually wanted to leave a message explaining things, but you can't do that when a post is deleted. If you read the CoG, I almost always leave a message with my reasons when I move or delete. In fact, I started a question in the Admin forum asking if there was some way that I didn't know about to leave a message like that. What I found out was that blue members can *receive* PMs but not send. I didn't think they could even receive. Had I known that, I would have sent him a PM explaining what happened...

[Edit] Oh, and that reply was for 79Jimmy based on his (IMO) over the top response. I had not seen yours till I posted the reply. In any case, it's all good and I hold no ill feelings to any of you...

Yeah, I only replied because I'd agreed with 79jimmy, wasn't tryin to butt-in /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif. Can a NP member reply to a PM from a member? (sorry, not ttrying to get off-track, but since we're kinda on the subject).

The though of ill-feelings never crossed my mind /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Honestly, I don't know... /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Until tonight, I did not know they could even receive PMs. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

no a non paying member can not send or reply to pm's they can receive pm's but no they cant reply or send. but if someone did pm a non paying member then they can look at the senders profile and if they have there email addy in there profile then the can obviously send an email reply to the pm /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Stick around Bob, if you give the site a chance you'll more than likely find it to be a valuable resource.

Your post did get a little wierd, and not really through any fault of yours. I did reply and mentioned it was heading into a grey area as far as the rules here go, but that was not meant to try and draw you into crossing the line and getting your post deleted...
