How do I determine the dimensions of my alloy wheels?

I was given some alloy wheels from a friend but he didnt know what the dimentions they were. Id like to mount these on my K5 blazer. My queston is, what measurments do I need to take off the wheel to figure out what tire will fit? My truck does have a 3" lift so I am going to run 33's.

I did measure the width of the wheel, that measures 10" from where the bead sits on the inside of the wheel.

I guess all I need now is to determin the height of the wheel and the back spacing, correct? That will give me the exact tire I need?

Now just measure the height of the rim from the bead seat area. Most rims are also stamped with the size either on the backside or inside the rim.

I did find this 10JX15H2

Also, I dont know what brand these are either, they say EMR PROD on the inside. Does that ring a bell?

Ok, I get it.. Yea its 15"X10"

So the tires I need are 33"X10"X15?? Is that right?

Also, I measured the back spacing at 4", is that a decent back spacing in your opinion?

Sweet, thanks..

So how about that back spacing? is 4" alot?

Im pretty sure im gonna get the BFG mud terrain, should I get them locally at summit racing or are they to be had cheaper online?

No, they are definitely 15", you have to look at where the tire seats at the bottom most part of the lip, not the top. I wouldn't run anything smaller than a 12.50 personally. I was running 35 15.50 15's on mine with 15X10" rims.

Why wouldnt you run anything smaller then 12.5?

On a 10" rim. A 31x10.50x15, for instance, generally wants to be mounted on a 15x8" rim, according to the manufacturers, IIRC.

That said, are we sure these rims are 15x10 and not 15x8? Remember it's the inside measurement, kinda like the diameter.

Basically when you get to be close the width of the wheel, say a 33X10.5 the bead doesn't "bite" into the bead surface as much. By having wider tires you have less chance of slipping the bead if you air down. I run 33X12.5 15's on my K5, and they look clean nicely tucked under the fenders, with no rubbing on stock suspension.

1. Easier to unseat the bead on the narrower tire

2. Easier to damage the rim due to the rim sticking out as far or farther (depending on the tire manufacturer) than the sidewall of the tire

3. It just plain looks better in my opinion:D

Im only using the truck for getting down to the lake or getting out to a nice shooting spot in the desert, nothing hard core at all. Im not going to be airing down the tires or anything. They should be ok for what im using the truck for right?
