i read the big paragraph about it, but it just tells me to take it apart, not how to... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

you don't have a haynes or chiltons? they tell you how.

or just chain it to your other truck and drive away, that will take it apart!

Do you mean to take the whole colum out...
Or just the insides out ...

dood you rented a puller???

you need to take that road trip out here go see the falls and il show you where to get cheap tools, i got a for way puller for like 5 bucks /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif

It was a free rent /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I'm trying to take it apart, so I can get the tub off the frame...

then why dont you just pull the whole thing?

two bolts on the coller on the fire wall, two under the dash, and 4 or 5 around the collum where it gose through the fire wall , it will pull out. and you dont need to take it apart.

oh, so just take off all the bolts I see connected to around the firewall for the steering colum? and it will just slide out?? Interesting /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

okay I went out there and got 6 bolts off, there are some smaller bolts around the steering colum, holding this unpainted piece of metal to the firewall, do I take these off too? What other ones do I take off? /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

yeah thas is atached to the collum so the little bolts arount the collum has to go, as well as two in the engen compartment on the fire wall there is a little coller, and two under the collum under the dash, make sure you get rid of the dash stuff under it and remove the piece between the box and collum /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Okay, I will probably finish off tomorrow. Thanks for the help Darkshadow /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

well, I got it off... it took a little grunt at the end, years of dirt and grease made the shaft stuck to the other part of the steering. ut its off now... woohoooo! /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

you know i was thinking you could have pulled the cab off with the collum in right?

the saft that goes from the collum to the box disconects and you could have left it in. ahwell another lesson learned eh? /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

LOL yeah, I just realized that as you typed, ah oh well, its just more knownledge for me /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif Thanks for the help!
