I have an 87 blazer 35" tires 4 inch lift using ORD shackles. I'm swapping in a 14 bolt SF axle. I need to cut of and reweld the spring purches back on.
I wouldnt worry too much about cutting perches. SF 14 Bolt should have the same perch-width as the blazer so no need to go through the hassle of cutting/grinding/setting/welding if its not needed. Hook it all up and check for driveline vibes. If its gnarley follow the guidance on the pirate 4x4 guide to correct your angles (a magnetic angle finder and small carpenters level work wonders). At that point you can shim the perches to correct angle. Or go with a CV drive shaft but thats $$$$.
I guess some people who are too busy (angry, too much money, stick up a**)to help answer a question but you CAN do a search in the garage section without being a member. . .
Depends on the axle whether or not the perches need moved. I put a 14 bolt SF out of a 97 4 wheel drive in my Jimmy and the perches and shock mounts definitely needed relocated.
I did not put a cv driveshaft in, so I just made the transfer case output and the pinion angles equal. (Well, almost. I allowed a degree or two for spring wrap.)
driney is dead on, not all axles have the perches in the same spot. Anyway, the idea is to get both u-joints at the same angle. The pitch down from your transfer case should match the pitch upward from your rear yoke, making them parallel.
