i have a volt guage and an amp guage. i want to know how to exactly wire both of them since i dont know which one works. i'm really close to getting this truck done and i want to know if my electrical system is working.

thanks,

An amp gauge runs between your main power and your fuse block usually.. It's a shunt style system..

DO NOT run an ampmeter! whether it works or not.... They are notoriously inaccurate and dangerous..

Run a voltmeter... ignition and ground is all it needs.. and lighting...

A shunt style ammeter is safe. The gauge is calibrated to the shunt. Only the shunt sees the charging current. It's the series-connected ammeter that presents a hazard because the full charging current runs through it. :eek1:

IMO, the more gauges the better. :D
