how do you guys without a shop work on your trucks?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pureinsanity... you suck! /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif just kidding. I do things the old fashoned way myself, on the driveway. If it involves removing the engine, tranny or tcase... I dont even go there... just have a shop do it. Anything else... including my upcoming axle swap, I just do in the driveway, like I said. it sucks, but I aint rich enough to use a shop for everything so I have to suck it up. This is one of the few times I wish I was back in the marines... they had garages you could use to work on your rigs for free... about 2 dozen lifts and plenty of tools at the one in camp pendleton. Pretty handy.

My wife gives me hell cuz I wont change the oil in the driveway. LOL! I have a full shop at my access, why lay on my back? Actually there was a time when I couldnt ever seem to get into dads shop, and slinging a rope over the tree in my draiveway was looking good. I just dont think the homeowners assoc. would have liked it much. I live in a town house and theres not much room out there. Now that it runs and moves, I have it out at mom and dads house to do the rest. Oh yeah theres a full shop w/ a compressor and welder there too. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif There is also a place to test it. Thats where my pics were taken. There is also a muddy spot down in their grove to play in if I want to.

check out a few shots of the shop i work on my rig in...its huge...120 ft by 180 ft with 5 ton overhead cranes..works great for pullin a motor! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif...picts are on my webshots page

I'm 20 years old and in college. My tools are stored under my bed. The Jacks stay in the truck. You can do anything anywhere if you need too. I've done clutch jobs, u-joints, Tcase rebuild, and a rear axle rebuild all in the parking lot. God I miss home. Small garage with my big toolbox. No air tools no welder. just some drills and bolt bins. We do lift kits there, tranny jobs have been done, Engine swap once. The moral is... Make do with what you have.

That shop is a monster! You need to let me use the paint booth! The booth at the shop I work at will be too tight for me to paint my roof and top. I like the lowrider pics too. LMAO!!

i have done just about everything in that shop...1 ton swap, manual tranny swap and the yellow paint job...it use to be white with a big grey stripe down the center of it with 31' tires

Well 22 years going to college living in an apartment and have gotten "lease violations" for working on my blazer and having parts scattered. They think it is some kind of hazard to have a vehicle apart, so just work in the parking lot is usually what happens. I figure if i can't get it fixed it will be stuck here forever so let me fix it.
