How do you pack your bearings?

So im putting the front hubs back together in the morning, but a small question came to mind. Besides packing the actual bearings, where else should i put the grease to ensure proper lubrication of all the stuff inside? just glob it on the spindle or what?? thanks..

I usually put a heathy coating on the spindle. Be careful not to put too much behind the hubs, as they might not engage fully.
