The ‘68 K10 has a chrome grille and I absolutely hate it, it needs to be white. How do you all paint over chrome?

But also realize that one good ice storm while driving and you will be painting it again. Or, a few years sitting in the hot sun and then just driving in the rain. At least that has been my experience.

There's an urban legend that you can paint chromed steel after etching it with EZ-off oven cleaner. I've never tried it, but realistically, any "good" way to refinish it will require removing it from the vehicle. I think if you could hand sand it enough, then any real car paint package (2-part primer, 2-part paint) would hold up. If you're talking 10 minutes with a scotch-brite and a rattle can, it's not going to be durable.
