What ways are you guys using to store your welding gear when not in use? Jacket/apron/gloves/etc
After a close encounter of the angry wasp kind this weekend, and as a temporary measure, I put everything in some plastic storage bins. But I want a better solution. Removing the wasps would be ideal, but not feasible. They love my property for some reason. I keep them "at bay" most of the time. Spiders, crickets, centipedes, and the occasional scorpion also like to crawl around in the shop.

My shop is separate from the house, so I dont want to keep everything in the house. Walking back and forth every time gets old, and gets you distracted by going back to the house. Dont need "quick access" as I dont use it all that often (one day a month?) but I dont want it "packed away" either.

So what solutions are you guys using?

i hang my flip flops on a nail by the door.... tanning lotion goes next to the Kroil...

I'm useless..

actually, I can contribute.. I keep my gloves, etc in my KRL sidelocker... :)

I have a harbor freight welding cart that holds my little MIG on the top shelf, gas bottle on the back, helmet/gloves on the bottom shelf, various clamps/magnets/spools of wire on the middle shelf and it has hooks on the side for your leads to hang on. Works for me, I own a welding jacket but rarely wear it unless I'm laying under a vehicle or something where the sparks are falling on me. Its so hot here most of the time that I would burn up wearing the jacket most of the time.

Been there, done that, have the scars to prove it. Bought the welding jacket after that event.
Normal use: I just throw on my leather apron and MIG gloves. But I have all the PPE to do it "correctly" for most situations. Now I just need to figure out storage of the PPE.

Wasps? Those bastards can't get in my shop.

I keep my gloves and sleeves in my HF welding cart drawers. Jackets are hung up, I always check them for spiders though.

This sounds similar. I leave my gloves on the rod burner, with my helmet on top. Hang the leathers off the torch bottles.

Always look in the hood and slap the leather and gloves before wearing. We get black widows here

Here too, you should have seen the huuuuge fkr that was hanging off my bed this weekend. Went and got the kids so they could see it before I killed it with fire.
Yeah, baztyrds

I use welding sleeves, but I do give everything a nice shake before I put them on. Then again I'm welding like ever other day so it gets used alot.

Wasps won't bother things that are being used.
My suggestion is to do more Welding.

This. All of mine get used at least a couple of times a week. Not an issue.

And I wear my sleeves any time I weld. Tired of laying awake at night with burning forearms.

Yup I do too, unless i'm welding using an underpowered welder at dunefest.
