how do you vent the gas tank?

on all my previous ex-diesel trucks i would just drill a small hole into the gas cap. whats the proper way to vent the gas tank. if i screw the cap on all the way it just pees out of the vent hose coming out of the tank

Is there no charcoal canister on the truck? That's how my fuel cell is currently vented but eventually I'm going to just run a breather/rollover valve from polyperformance.

ok stupid question how do you run the lines through that thing. ive always just thrown this thing out on all my k5s. the truck was a diesel now has a carbed small block in it
