How does the K/5 molding on the front fender of a 1987 Blazer come off? Is there a nut on the back side or does the whole molding just clip on..

If it clips on then I guess the best place to get a new one would Be Chevrolet.

thank you

IIRC there are two "speed nuts" on the back of it.

Those emblems are real pricey, I believe the only way to remove them without breaking them is to remove the fender from the truck. :(

yup two speed nuts, the size should be 3/8

if you really try you can get this off with out breaking them, but you will be cursing for a while:D

And expensive/rare enough that if they aren't already broken, pretty much any amount of work will be worth it.

stick em on..

Most of them have pal nuts on the backside holding them on--a bitch to get at, and get off without snapping the die cast studs off the nuts go onto--if you get it off without breaking them, you can buy "barrel clips" at a body shop supply store(or a body shop even better,as the store will likely want to sell only a whole box of them) they pop into the hole in the fender and allows you to just push the studs on the emblem back in from the outside,no more nuts needed!--if the studs snap off,you can use 3M double sided emblem attachment tape to hold them on--I think some emblems are glued on this way from the factory on some GM trucks...

My molding was just held on by double sided tape except at the rear corners, peeled right off.

Your talking about body side molding not emblems right?

hunter i'm talking about the K/5 emblem on the front fender.

I went to our Chevy dealer and he said the K/5 emblem (molding) on the front fender was no longer availible and discontinued. So we will have to find them else where...
