How does the rear power window work?

My manual window handle broke into pieces but i have a power tailgate. It needs a new motor and whatever connects the motor to the window. theres a piece if thick wire or braided steel line hanging and if you twist on it hard the window moves a little. is that what i need? please explain its been raining in my baby!

I would just buy a new handle. There like 20 bucks on ebay.

Otherwise you would need the motor, drive cable, wiring and dash switch. You would also need to have the lock cylinder keyed if you don't have a key.

The power windows are nice, but they can be a lot of trouble. They are always slow too. Mine I have to start my blazer and rev it up to get it to go up faster. I'd second the new handle, and if you really want the power window I would rebuild it while it's of the truck with new tracks and everything.
