.....completely take out the dash. i want to take it all apart, clean it, do some rewiring, reinsulate it and put it back.

is there anything i should know. or is it just unbolt it and pull it out?
TIA.

I think that while ya got it tore down, you should put some of those way trick white faced gauges in it...someone on the OffRoad board did it...(sorry can't remember who)...wish I had the patience and perseverence to do it...JD

I stripped mine down to the steel frame. I was swapping in a new dash pad and guage cluster and I thought I'd do a little cleaning etc. Mine is an 81 and it came apart real easy.

I've had mine off a lot of times. Its really easy to do and doesn't take very long.

That sounds like a big job. But I was looking at my old tub sitting in my yard.. and it's completely stripped down.. To remove the whole steel dash it looks like 4 to 6 bolts holding it on.
In my opinion, I wouldn't take it down that far.
Once you have everything off you need, you should have plenty of room to do what you need to.

It's better to have it and not need it. Than to need it and not have it !

It's not hard to strip it to the metal portion of the dash. To remove the metal portion you have to unbolt it on the sides and cut the pinch weld along the windshield. I think it would be a pain in the butt.
