How far to disassemble axle before welding on it?

Hi, the 14bff I have came off of a 1 ton truck so needless to say the spring perches and the shock mounts aren't in the right place. I pulled the shafts and took the hubs and drums off, should I do more than this before welding the new perches and mounts on? Also, I'm going to be running hydro assist on my front d60 so I'll be welding much closer to the differential than on the 14 bolt, should I remove parts from the differential itself or will I be fine? Thanks for any help.

I diddent take anything off my 14ff when i did my perches, seems fine to me

I have welded perches on a complete axle also.Your not gonna hurt anything

Only issue you would run into would be arching in the lash of the gear teeth. To make sure you have NO issues keep the ground as close to the area being welded as possible.
