I dont dare!..
I keep my 4x4's under 85 mph--and even at that speed they didn't "feel" safe!--my tires are used take offs from a boneyard, and none are "hi speed balanced"...all my GM 4x4 trucks started shaking after 85 mph,and I had no desire to be a stain on the road!...my 72 K5 hit 100 mph once, but who knows how accurate the speedometer was..I had to see if my newly installed SM465 made any difference in acceleration--it did,but only on takeoffs!..I would not trust any 4x4 over 85 mph much..they just aren't designed for high spped safety...and a lifted truck?..even WORSE!..
I think the fastest I've ever driven any of my cars or trucks was my 69 GTO--I once had a Barracuda pull up beside my goat on the highway, and the guy was flooring it and letting off, like he was enticing me to race!..then he got behind me,so close I couldn't see his headlights!..
I floored the GTO,wound it up over 100 mph in second gear (TH400 with 4.10 gears!)--and I held it there until third gear ran out..the speedo was buried at 130 mph!--and the car was shaking so bad I thought it would fly apart!

--the Barracuda was WAY behind, and he exited the highway behind me--must have been embarrased!..
My Ford Contour isn't any slouch either--despite it having a tiny 2.5 "Duratech" V6,it puts out 170 HP!--it has a 4 speed overdrive automatic, and 3.77 gears..its doggy under 2500 rpm (which is the RPM its at when doing 70 mph!)..but floor it,and that little motor winds up like a chainsaw!--the redline is 6200 rpm on the tach!

---I've beaten a few Mustang GT's off the line with it!...
I was boxed in by two 18 wheelers in a construction zone about a week ago,and nearly got squashed in it!--so as soon as the lanes opened up,I booted it,and held it to the floor...it wasn't long before the headlights of those trucks looked like they were miles away--when I looked at the spedometer,it was over 110 mph,the tach said 3500 rpm!...I have no doubt it would bury the needle at 130 mph,I had plenty of pedal left!..but I was about to stain my shorts, the car was shaking pretty badly..my front wheel bearing is a bit noisy,so I thought it was unwise to be going that fast..and it felt more like 200 mph for whatever reason--I guess smaller cars "feel" faster!..
I rarely speed, unless road conditions make it a lifesaving manuver--I prefer to go 60-70 tops..so just about everything else passes me on the highways..
