how good was the fi system that would be found on the 76 caddy 500? just curious. and what type would it be anyone know?

If i rember right I think was a batch fire port injection system. I rember when they came out. People had trouble with them. I think it was one of the first electronic ECM controled FI systems to come out. The technology just wasn't there and no one Knew how to work on them.. But you gotta hand it to Cadillac. It was a first step in the right direction.

Yes, the system was pretty poor, even compared to what came in the 80's.

To my knowledge, no one has used the hardware from that system, with modern components, to FI an older Cadillac motor.

But it might be a good way to do it, and it would be a cool project. :)

i am researching a future built 500 caddy project. and i will steer clear of that fi system. thanks. a predator would work so much better :D

Second that. Use the hardware and dump the electrical/electronics in favor of newer stuff. SDS and MegaSquirt come to mind.....
