I obviously suck at the google. I have heard horror stories about them in our years of trucks. And, being from the boonies, I like to try everything once. I'm seriously conssidering painting my K5 this summer, but have next to no glass experience.
check out youtube. I just watched a few vidoes on this. Looks like you need a few tools to do it. You could do it if you need to. Watch a couple clips on youtube. Good luck!
It does suck but how much it sucks depends on how tweaked you’re windshield frame is. It helps a ton if you shove a ¼” rope in the rubber and push the windshield in as you pull the rope out with you're choice of lube added in the mix.
My frame we boogered up pretty good but the install went pretty well until the last 18” or so but it eventually went in without breaking the glass.
