How important is the length of the drag link in doing crossover?

I'm getting ready to mount up a box in the buggy and was thinking of running an S-10 box on the inside of the frame rail to get it away from the tire and out of harms way of rocks. Would the roughly 6" difference in length really matter?

it is still a lot better then the stock push pull setup.

Yeah, you'll be fine. If you are building a buggy why not go with full hydro?

because I have the box, drag link, tie rod and arms already. And the hydro assist ram and lines as well.

if I could find the full hydro for a good price I would. I can get a great deal on lines though, just would need everything else.
