How loud is 100 watts?

Thinking about buying a PA system for my truck, looking at several on ebay because I was given an ebay gift card for Christmas. I've found a 60 and 100 watt systems that look decent. How loud would a 60 watt be? How loud would 100 be? Like could people hear them with their windows shut? Just really trying to figure out how loud they'll be. Thanks

Well I have 35 bucks left on this ebay card and want to buy something and was thinking either a PA or Dixie horn or some kind of train horn. What should I get

A 100watt solid state PA would be pretty loud. Depends on what you're doing with it though.

I would buy something else, like $35 worth of oil filters or a dash carpet cover or portable tire compressor. Something other than a noise maker.

How loud is 100W? Depends a lot on the speaker. But for the same speaker, it's only twice as loud as 10W.
