Okay, Dumbest question of the day. 350/sm465/205. I can only find five bolts in my bellhousing, 3/driverside, 2/pass.

I'm removing trans to replace clutch, got hoist in cab 465 & 205 lifted abit, cross member removed, manual linkage disconnected. Not sliding out, so I'm thinking another bolt hiding somewhere.:dunno:

There are 7 bolt holes in the block but MOST only use 6 bolts, 3 per side like Kert said. I have seen a few RARE instances where there is the 7th bolt used on the top center of the block/bell housing IF the bell housing actually has a provision for the 7th bolt.

can you not just unbolt the 4 tranny to bell housing bolts and slide the tranny out that way? i may be wrong here but that is how i do it on my nv4500 tranny. maybey not on an sm465 though?

Yep, I sure could, but I'm replacing the clutch.

I did finally find the hiding bolt, under a wire bracket.
Thanks
