I was wondering what was the most miles you ever got on a truck ? I was driving home from work and just turned 250,000 miles on a 90 suburban . It's a 2wd daily driver [83 miles a day] When I got it , it had 170,000 miles and never even had the valve covers off . The trans was rebuilt right before I got it [700r]. The thing runs strong and never let me sitting [should keep my mouth shut!!]:doah: The next cloeset would have been my 88 Gmc with 238,000 before it was totaled .

My 80 K20 (the "yellowk20") My dad bought it new and I bought it from him with 178,00 I drove it from the time I got my License in 94' until 2001 when the Motor finally gave up the ghost at 390,000 . the only thing ever done was T/C and cam and lifters the cause of the engine failure was the pick-up fell out of the oil pump and it started Knocking I rebuilt the motor and it's on the stand waiting for a new home (the yellow truck is to wild for a small block now)

I am sittin right close to that 250k mark too, i just change the oil regularly, i have had problems with minor stuff, like sensors, fuel pump, and one injector, but nothing major with the engine.

smoke a bit at stsrt-ups, but i can live with that.

heck, it just recently passed emissions test here too, with nothing adjusted or added :D

the way i see it, if you take care of the motor, don't beat it on a daily basis, and keep the fluids clean, it should last for some time.

My other 'Burb lost the motor at 350,000....I believe it blew an oil cooler line, seizing the #1 rod bearing....

this is what i am kinda saying, if it wasn't for little things, like this cooler line, that motor probably would have lasted quite abit longer, granted with higher mileage, the power drops down, but hey,,,it's running.

no previous leaks or anything that would have been seen that could have possibly prevented this problem??

if i spot a leak on my truck,,it gets fixed asap.

well, other than my transfercase, but i think i know why that leaks,,and it hurts:doah: :(

Got 217,000 on my Toyota and the valve cover has never been off , runs strong and has not been driven easly one day in its life.

Just got a 1993 Dodge P/U with 483,000 on it with original motor ( Cummins ) .

Seen a few GM trucks with 6.2 diesels get a couple hundred thousand on the clock with little to no issues.

The most miles I have ever seen on a Chevy V8 engine was 510,000. I have a freind of mine that bought a 1970 Chevelle, which came factory equipped with bucket seats, center console shift, 300-HP 350 4-bolt main 4-V engine, Turbo 350 trans, and an open 12-bolt diff, back in 1976. It had 67,000 original miles when he bought from the original owner, and had been well maintain by the original owner. When he finally yanked the engine out of it (some 20 years later) in 1996, it had just under 510,000 miles on the engine. He still owns that car to this day.

i know im going to get flamed for this one

my brother owns a 1977.5 ford f250 flatbed 4x4 pickup with 750000 miles on it ( the speedo quit so its mostlikely more) my uncle used it for long haul horse hauling until 3 years ago when my brother got it the motor was replaced at 150000 miles and 450000 miles and my brother just gernaided the engine again the oem transmission went last month and the rear end went when the motor went. he was dragging a skip loader out of the mud for a neighbor the rear end and the motor went at the same time. I am however a chevy guy and he is too but is sure is fun beating the snot out of this ford

how many miles

I have a '91 K-5 Blazer that i bought from the original owner (family friend) it just turned 303,000 miles on the original drivetrain, no rebuild on motor tranny or t-case. Its my DD and it runs perfect still gets 16 mpg. Have all reciepts form oil changes and fliuds. Tranny fliud was replaced every 30,000 mi. and oil was every 3,000 i must have over a couple hundred receipts for the truck and all the work and maintenance he did to it, just shows u take care of it it will run almost forever.

My 93' K3500 has 463,000 on the 6.5 Motor has not been touched but the tranny and t-case have both been rebuilt in the last 60,000 My 88 V2500 burb had 290,000 when I sold it with no failures oter than D-side power window motor and heater core

I forget how many my 77 had when I got it, but I know I put over 300,000 miles on it, plus whatever was there. I probably put 150,000, above the PO miles on my 84 K5.

My 97 daily driver just rolled over to 80,000 :thumb: I drive a lot less these days.

Not to hijack a truck thread but my buddy has an 83 camaro, 305, 350 with over 350K on it. STock engine and tranny. I have a very hard time believing him. But he's the original owner and he did by the book maintenance. He guesses about 400k and it still runs well. Not much power but no smoke or major issues.

your post reminded me.. I rebuilt the engine in the 77 at around the 255,000 range .. maybe a bit more than that. When we took the timing chain cover off, it looked like it would have jumped the gears if a grasshopper had gotten between 'em.
