I just bought an 85 blazer and I am trying to figure out how much lift it has. I know it has at least 4 inch, but I think it might have a 6 inch lift. Mine has 4 leaves and the overload. 1 spring doesnt look like the others and I think it may be an add a leaf.

If thats the case that is the exact answer I am looking for. Think about it, If stock is 5 leaves WITH an overload, Then I have a 4 inch lift. There is a 4 inch lift block, and 5 leaves. So that means there is no add a leaf,Right?

correct. and if that leaf your talking about was in fact an add a leaf which it is not that would mean that your truck would have come with stock 3 leaf rear springs excluding overload which from my experience it unheard of on blazers for sure

# of leaves has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH RIDE HEIGHT (LIFT). Springs can have all kinds of different spring rates, arcs, etc. that all change ride height.

You could have one leaf that lifts the truck 36", you can have an 8 leaf pack that sits at stock height.

If you want to know how much lift the truck has, measure from the top of the axle tube to the bottom of the frame and compare it to other people's trucks.

Thanks man, I went out and measured from the top off the axle, to the bottom of the frame and got 15 3/4". I made sure the tape measure was perfectly centered on the axle and true up and down. Can someone measure thiers and help me out.
