how much balancing weight for new tires/wheels

Picking up the new tire/wheel combos tomorrow. Just wondering how much weight would be acceptable and at what point I should tell them I want a different tire or wheel? Also what difference between inside and out is OK? They are 285/75R16 Pro Comp Muds on 16x10 8-6.5 Rockcrawler series 51s. Thanks.
 
well the worst of my TSLs has 27oz on it... as long as it balances out i say roll with it
 
Put 8oz of dynabeads inside each one and don't worry about it.

Or, you can do what I did with my 39.5"............nothing.

X2. You can balance and cinder block, but that doesn't mean it will roll smooth. I've never bothered to balance anything over 35's.
 
best balence job is weight on both lips. second best is back lip and sticky in the middle section in the back side. just make sure thay clear the calipers first before sticking on and then ripping off first roll.

then a tire that size 5-6oz is getting to the high side. but i would watch the tire and the tread as it spins on the balencer. the smother and less wobble it has the better the tire and you can give in on a higher weight if it needs it.

i have balenced some big tires before and almost no weight and then 31" needs a weight amount almost fit for a 38 and up. but both have still road like a dream.

best rule is how does the tire look when spinning. that will be the key for a good ride. as i have been balencing tires and auto mechanice for over 8 years.

To me internal balancing seems the best with a vehicle that will see trails and get damaged. The internal balancing will adjust for any changes to the tire.

Including mud stuck on the inside!!!!!
That what I have in the garage just in case I fel like balancing.
