I was wonndering if anybody knows how much a 2 wheel drive 77 k5 would weigh with a 350 engine and trans. I saw in the specification section that a 77 weighs 4268lbs. but is that for a 2 or 4 wheel drive? Thanks

Well, with the front crossmember and A-arms, I betcha a 2WD would weigh pretty close to what a 4WD does with the springs and axle.

Plus you're gonna get more variance depending on how much gas is in it (a full tank is ~250 pounds), people, fluids, seats, etc etc etc. Oh and the hardtop :)

4300# sounds a bit light, honestly, but for a stock rig, maybe.

Didn't the '77 K5 4x4 trucks have either an NP203 or NP205? Neither one of those transfer cases is lightweight, so take that into account when subtracting to arrive at a rough 2WD weight.

Oops. Yeah, that's like 200# right there. :doah:

If anybody still cares...

I put my '76, soft top, 350/350/205 D44/14bff with roof rack (50lbs?), P/U gate, no tools, maybe half tank of fuel on the scale. Came in at 4438 lb.

FWIW the Ackerson book lists a '77 4x4 K5 w/ hardtop as having a 4368 lbs. shipping weight.

I weighed my 84 blazer (all stock, hard top, 10 bolts, bfg at 32" tires) with me and a buddy on a truck scale and I was at 5100lbs
