How much does it weigh?

Anyone know how much a stripped Suburban body weighs? I'm going to pull it off to do a quick clean and repaint of the frame. I'd like to build something to hang it in the garage at least long enough to roll the frame out then back when I'm done. Maybe even something safer enough for me to get under the body to re coat it as well. Thanks for any info

I'd "guess" around 1000 lbs...with seats and carpet add another 500 lbs for good measure..
Hope your garage has some beefy beams or rafters !..

At the junkyard we lacked a gantry crane or any means to hoist a body off the frame other than the loader,and the quonset hut was unsuitable for holding much weight..--we did a few frame off restorations on some real heavy old land yachts like an old Mercury Monterey and Lincolns,and we used 55 gallon drums as stands,with 6x6 timbers across them--filled the drums with water,and used the loader to pick up the body,put the timbers under the body on the barrels,then rolled the chassis out from under it..
