How much for a 14bff??

I just called the junkyard looking for a 14bff and they said they wanted $300 for it, is this a normal price?? it seeems kindove high to me I have heard of people getting them for $50.

I have found you can call all over, and each yard has a different price. They can still be found cheap I hear, but in AZ I haven't found one cheap, but my darn buddy scored one from a pull it yourself place for dirt cheap. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Unless you are buddies with the owner a slavage yard is not a good place to start looking for cheap 14bolts.
About the only way I would pay $300 for a used 14 bolt is if it had 4:88 or better gears, and a Detroit.
I have gotten them for $50 but the norm around here is $100.
Check the classifieds and see if your area gets the nickle ads. There are always rigs being parted out in those.

I wouldnt even mind paying $150 for one, just $300 sounds way to high.

I sold a 14 FF with 4.10 and open differential on ebay for $125. I had another listed that was 4.10 and a gov-lock but it received no bids. Maybe you could check on ebay. After you do your search there is a link to the left "find items near me", that way they will be within driving distance.

I have bought @ 5-6 of them out of yards for $88 apiece with ubolts spring plates and ebrake cables.....

I picked one up from a guy that has his own private junkyard, payed $175 for mine. Some will say I paid to much, but everyone around here is asking a lot for them.

When I called around they wanted 300, 500, even something like 700. I found a guy who sells em for 100 bucks!

I think I might have found one, this guy is selling one for 150 and it has 3.73 gears so I will have to upgrade the gears but it will be a fun project.

I called the local junk yard couple of hours ago and they said $212 then called the same place 20 minutes later and then said $155 /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif somthing weird there.

If you want to come to corpus to get it, I have one with 4.10 and detroit for 400-450~ rebuilt.... I can have it by mid-late july out and ready to go

I wouldn't pay more than $150-200 for one that was open, and I wouldn't pay anything at all for a gov lock one. I would be sure it has the gears you want as well.

I know of a guy near me in South Houston that will let you have one out of his yard for around 100 to 150
