How much gear oil?

Hey, ok so I just put a 14bff in my rear, and a 8 lugged 10 bolt in the front of my blazer, they had 4 inch lift springs and disks on the back, mostly it looks badass, lol.

It's day three and i'm just getting everything finished up, need to tap(To clean out) the sway bar holes in the 10 bolt because the bolts are a B**ch to get even halfway in, dont think one even will go that far.

Anyway, the 14bff has a fill plug about halfway so I know how much to add in there, the 10 bolt has the fill plug on the top, so does anyone know how much gear oil to add? In quarts or whatever?

the 14bff holds 1 gallon and the 10 bolt will hold around 2 quarts. just put it in till it starts coming out of the fill hole.


o, and leave the stupid sway bar off.

The fill hole is all the way towards the top, at least 3/4 the way up, I was under the impression it should only be filled halfway or so?

And I was going to, pops is pretty bent on me putting it back on, haha. And some things just arent worth arguing with him over.

i know i put more then that in my 14b's. especially if the pinion is tilted up. either way, fill it up till it comes out the hole. run it then add more, because it'll have to fill the tubes also.

Well shoot, I better check mine then. I filled it before I installed it and didn't bother to check it after it was bolted up
