I made the terrible mistake of running a report on all my truck-related expenses with my accounting software.... $12,000 on my current rig alone since '01! /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif That's not counting the cost of the truck itself $3,900. For 16 f-ing grand I could have done a lot better if I had it to do all over again! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif This is also not counting the rig before this one!
Boy, if the boss found out about this there would be hell to pay! /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

i don't even have $4,000 into mine but it has taken close to 3 years to keep the price down. hunting for bargins

Dude... that is the one question that ya don't ask.. or that ya don't want to answer. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Lets just say between my Blazer and my Camaro, it could have probably been a down payment on a cheap house or apartment.

stopped counting at 16K on the silver blazer, I have less than 2500 in the project truck over the last year (including the price of the truck) but thats deal hunting, buying and selling pieces

I got my K20 for free; and drove it home. It was stock when I got it and I have put in about $3500 in repairs and modifications.

5000 for the truck 2000 for the axels 25 for CK5 membership and probally 1800 in stuff to put the axels on, 1000 for the winch 780 for rear bumper and rocksliders 500 for tranny 300 for headers i dont want o keep track donw to the cents, beacause i dont really care what i paid for the stuff, as long as im having fun with it /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

TOO DAMN MUCH...

At last count, I was at 14,000 (including purchase price) and that didn't even include my recent D60 with x-over and hydro...

Chris

I just spent over $3000.00 in the last month doing my recent LT1/4L60E swap (not including the prices of the engine/trans) and new 42" Iroks. It goes QUICK!

Not including my truck's purchase price, I have about $200 in little stuff. When I first got the truck it needed the front d-shaft rebuilt, and then needed some brake work. I put 12,000 relatively trouble free miles on it as my DD.

THEN,
the Rockwell transfer case, clutch, starter, windshield, and 2 tires ( pass rear and spare /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif ) all sh!t the bed simultaneously, so I parked it and bought a Buick for DD, lol.

Aside from that, I got a bunch of stuff for cheap. Dodge D60 4.10 $150 (needs total rebuild), Eaton rear axle 4.57 w/ Detroit Locker $100, NP205(465 version) $20, 465/205 combo FREE (along with seats from an '81 K5), 4 Ford steel pizza cutters with cheap tires $50 (to replace stock split rims /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif ), and a 5.14 geared load bolt centersection for the Eaton for another $50, with good gears and bearings. So that is around $370 for hard parts not counting consumables. Pretty good I think.

Dont know. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Dont wanna know. /forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif

Never will know. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Some where around $6-8K including $1150 purchase price.

About $1K I dumped into the 6.2L before I heedlessly ditched it. In hindsight, I gave up on it too quick. I didn't realize that I had 3.08s; I thought I had 3.73s. If I'd known that while I had the 6.2, I'd probably done an axle swap instead of a motor swap.

Blah, blah, blah... I digress.

$4,100 ... purchase /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Hmmm does gas count? Probab about $20,000 then, cuz I sure as hell don't have any of my earnings from last year!

Right now prolly close to 30K. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gifIt is worth it /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

What I spent versus what I could have built for the money I spent are two different things. I probably have over $15K US into my truck and you can't tell at all.
