I belive that I need to lengthen my rear driveshaft after installing my 6 inch lift on my K5.

What is a fair price to pay to have a shaft lengthened?

What is a fair price for a driveshaft from an 83 K10 that had 8 inches of lift on it?

Will that shaft be to long for my 86 K5?

Both trucks have np 208 Transfer cases.

Here is a pic of my tailshaft and slipyoke.

The shaft from the K10 will be WAY too long for your K5. I'd say around $300 for a CV shaft is a good price to pay.

Not sure, but it MAY be cheaper to get the k10 one shortened rather than yours legnthend. Just food for thought.

It would be cheaper to have a shaft shortened than lengthened.

A good local shop here does lengthening for 50-100, depending on condition of shaft, and how much work it needs.

I always hear everyone sayin get a CV, blah blah blah, if you got the money, and high lift, go for it. But im running 6" of lift no cv and multiple blazers i wheel with have 4-7" of lift and no CV. Just some info.

Cost of K10 shaft + cost to shorten it = probably more $ than just having your stock shaft lengthened. CV shafts are nice but not necessary.

getting yours lengthened will be the cheapest route. the one out of the K10 would be too long.

Thanks for the replys everyone. I think I may go ahead and get it lengthened.

Does it even need to be lengthened or is my shaft ok?

I would make it about 2 inches longer and it should only cost around 90$

I paid 135.00 to have mine lengthened. You want it? What kind of ujoints are in your driveshaft now?

you would get that back after the first film. But if it was really that cheap everyone would have an extra 2".
