How much is a new windshield?

Yes...call a local glass company for a good quote. The same windshield fits all '71-'91 Blazers and ''73-'87 Pickups. They usually run about $125.....shop around to get a good installed price.

I just replaced mine. shopped around and paid $99 installed.
actual cost of glass was $40 I watched him do it and was very simple. Someone on here just did theirs and said it was real simple too. Just remove the molding from the rubber gasket and out it comes. Only thing left to do is seal it with a tube of urethane. or after youve installed it drive it to them and pay them to do it.

I paid $85 installed, in my driveway, 2-3 years ago. This was with the tint across the top and the antenae. We also got one in the Sub, w/o antenae, for $80. Definintly shop around.

I was at a junkyard looking for a few other parts. I saw a good windshield in a beat to hell blazer. The guy wanted $80.00 bucks for it. I couldn't beleave it. I could get a new one and it installed for $125.00

Man they are really raping us up here in the tundra. No less than $200 installed new. Figure $50 in a junkyard...if you can find one....About $40 to install at a glass shop.

Shum1,

These guys are correct. Here in the Salt Lake area they range from about $80 -$120 depending on what you get, antenna, tint, etc. Many places will even come your work for no extra charge and change it there if you aren't availble at another time. Takes like 15 minutes max.

One thing that blows me away is that you can pay $120 and if done through your insurance, they get charged around $400. Unbelievable.

Call around is right. Make SURE that you know what you are getting. Most of the cheap (dishonest IMO) glass is MUCH thinner than factory, and chips very easy. I just paid $180 installed, tinted top section, antennae in windshield, but it doesn't leak, and is Libby Owen Ford glass.
