How much is the truck worth?

Its "costing me too much" on parts, maint, time, gas.
plus i alreayd ahve another vehicle. Thats brand new and easier on gas. I'll prolly convinvce them to let me keep it atleast untill i graduate but i just wanna know a ballpark figure.

So what's the other ride you got? I'd be willing to bet that the K5 is way better to keep in the long run then sell to drive something else.... I figured that if I sold mine and bought something else I'd end up paying twice as much... so that's not much of a deal!

4.56 is an awful lot of gear--no wonder gas is costing you so much. 3.73s would have been enough.

How do I know? My '87 has 4.56s without overdrive. It winds to the moon!

Keep the K5 as a toy. If they complain about what you're spending on it park it for a bit and then fix it. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif You'll regret it if you sell. My off road rig is sitting in the yard for now down for transmission issues, and I've considered selling, but then after thinking about it came to my senses and realized a) I'd never get out what I put into it and b) it's something to look forward to especially since it's not essential to have it working 100% of the time like it would if it were the daily driver *and* wheeler...

Just some thoughts to ponder...

I may be in the same boat as you, im a junior in highschool and my parents hate the k5, they may be making me sell it, but the upside is if i did i would be able to get a 95 m3 which wouldnt be half bad but i would miss offroading and the truck so much.

I sold my 72 K/5. I still regret it. Keep the K/5. I resently bought a 76 K/5. Once you go 4x4, you'll always want one. Sell the parents, keep the K/5.

Never sell a rig if you like it. I still regret selling my 76 Jimmy to get a mileage car when my wife and I were dating. I have a 91 and a 79 Blazer right now but still wish I had kept the 76 Jimmy. I knew the Jimmy since I worked on it so much and had done so much work on it. When it came time to sell I could just not get much money out of it.

Not much more than you paid for it, in fact $4000 is way more than I would pay. But I am sure you could get that out of it.
