So i was told when i bought the k5 i had 8" of lift. But im beginning to question it. Can you guys tell by these pictures roughly how much i have? do i really have 8? these are 36" tires and he said it had 42s when he got it....

Hard to tell. It has cut out flares on it, that will allow bigger tires without a bigger lift. I'd say 6".

thats true. i forgot about that. so i may agree with you then. 6" springs up front and it had like a 5-6" block in the back so i assume stock springs there?

I know the springs on my wrecked M1009 are stock, I can go out and measure from the bottom of the frame to the top of the spring here after breakfast and give you a baseline to compare it against.

that would be something to start with. However my springs arent attached to my frame at the moment :doah:

haha you dont need to go out of your way to measure it. Im just looking for you guys to estimate what it looks like i have. Im not gonna change anything.

Measuring the blocks will tell you the suspension lift but you want to look for body lift also. Could be the angle of the pick but it looks like you have some rake front to back also (back higher).

distance from the floor pan (bed) of the truck over the rear axle (the flat section, not the pinch weld) to the top of my 10 bolt axle tube just inboard of the spring perch, is 15.5 inches give or take.

Looks like a 6 inch. The flares make up for lack of lift. It looks pretty good though. I usually don't like the look of flares but they seem to have done a good job of it.

i know it doesnt have a body lift. In person it looks pretty level.

who even makes 8" front springs? I'm guessing 6.... take a pic of the front spring from something of a side view, the arc wiill give a much better idea...

the springs are off the k5 right now cuz i painted them. i can take a picture of them unsprung? will that help or you want one with them supporting weight?

They look like 6's but it's tough to say for sure, other then they are definitely bigger then 4's and not as big as 10's :D
