Hey, I was wondering how much horse power you guys have in your rigs, and how you got to how much you have. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Well, my insano powerplant came stock with 160 horses but now it probably has about 130 with maybe 100 getting to rear??? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Way too little. Stock 1976 400cid small block with nearly 90,000 miles on it. I want a 454 damn it !!!! /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

this is really a hard question as most of us don't have access to a dyno or the big $ it cost to have it done. no offense but when u get guys guessing horsepower #'s they tend to be a little higher than they actually are.

Haven't measured but I have enough to pull 33's with 3.08's with a 305. Stock 83 with new ignition every year( plugs wires etc ) and Oil every 3000. New heads at 88,000 when I became second owner. Think 305 was rated at 145 new and 350 was rated at 165 hp new. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Acording to gm I have 250hp and 350 ftlbs at the flywheel. With a couple tricks I probaly have about 255 and 355. And that is enough to spin 35x12.5s trhough 3.08s and Im OK with that.

i think i have 180 in my k20 (350 with less than 3,000 miles /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif and headers /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif) and my k10 is about 350 /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I have a freshly rebuilt 305 with headers, performer intake, and dual exhaust. I think I'm probably putting out something like 180 hp? I dunno Thats a guess and I could be way wrong.

190@5600 at the asphalt. I figure around 265-275 at the crank. Not a whole lot of useable low-end on this motor.

XE262H cam, ARPed bottom end, headers, no emissions, ported heads, electric fans, blah blah blah. The heads are a severe bottleneck.

It's enough with the 235s and the locker to cause severe wheelhop for about the first 60' if I mash the throttle from idle at a traffic light. With the 33s it usually just chatters like a vibrating bed for the first 10-20'.

Not bad for a 305 though.

I'd probably be happy with another 80hp and another 100ftlbs of torque. Or at least make the ponies come a thousand RPM sooner.

I sure do miss my tree-fiddy.

Think this would add horsepower to my truck?

im guessing about 550-600 at the crank based on similar engines mabe maore but i always say lower just in case i dyno it and have to put my foot in my mouth. the guy that helped me build it says 650-675.all i can say is i love it.nuttin like screamin through the mud at 7,000 +

Yes...yes it would... /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif

Before one of the lobes on the cam went flat, which lead to a total rebuild, I'm guessing the 402 bb .030 over was at around 400hp, maybe just under. It had 427 heads, Harland Sharpe full roller rockers, some un-specified Comp Cams cam and lifter set.

When its done and rebuilt I'm hoping for a bit over 400hp. And alot of big block torque. /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif In addition to what I already mentioned, It's getting a Comp Cams Extreme 4x4 cam, Comp Cams lifters, pushrods, valve springs and double roller timing set. It'll be bored out to .040 over, new Keith Black pistons & rings. New fresh machined crank. Gonna have it all balanced too. Heads had been rebuilt within 6 months of it dyin. Holley Truck Avenger 770 carb. Edelbrock Performer intake. Hmm...Thats all I can remember- I have a pretty impressive pile of parts. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Here's a picture of the engine when it ran-

I miss it- I havent driven it in just over a year. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

900-1000.Hp+ depending how I set the blower boost /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I thinking maybe 200. Its a 350, RV cam, headers, aluminum intake, and dual exhaust. 200 would be on the high side. Probably more like 180, but thats only when it runs. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Yeah, I second that! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Probably 6:1 compression too on mine! /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

Around 325HP or so at the crank but with about 400ft lbs of torque also at the crank. Built 406 small block.

hhmm , lets see,
i have a 305 v8 stock with an impressive 186,000 miles
on it . i would say with the stock q-jet and the stock
exhaust with a bad cat , about 12hp /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Stock 5.7L Vortec with emissions removed, exhaust and a power program...probably 245 to 255 at the crank. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

375HP and 525 ft/lbs at the crank when it rolled out of the factory. This is a stock engine /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif! It came out of a `74 cadillac /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif
