how much power is too much power?

Theres a BIG differance between enough and to much power
Because you cant have to much power

i go with borrego. you are only as strong as the weakest part. which is also the one thats always a pita to change.

There can never be too much power. Well... I haven't ridden in a 6500 horse top fuel dragster either. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My experience has been:
More power = More problems.

But who doesn't want more power! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now you are just making me feel bad /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I don't even fall into the lowest HP bracket that you put in your poll /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Then again, my truck is still (somehow) able to pull the front left up under hard acceleration at the 1-2 shift /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. I will call it enough power when it can pull up both front wheels by simply stomping it from a dead stop /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have never heard of too much power /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I guess it just depends on what you are doing. I've got enough power to twist the drivelines with good traction but I cant consistantly pull first place in the mud races.

thanks for the replies everyone, it looks like you can't have too much if you know how to use it right /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif good reading this post!!
good question, just hard to get a straight answer to it.
to much power is, when you break it; you have to fix it.
then its a question of $$$$ good /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif
will it start and run when you want it too!!!
I've tried to look for upgrades, usually for better durability and will it be more dependable.
I hate walking, when I should a been drivin..
is it for fun or your daily driver? /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I need another pismo trip, so I will fix the broken stuff I broke last trip.

Dependant on what it is used for torque is where it is at.
For my purposes I need lots of low end grunt and plenty of HP to spin the tires in the goo.
With not to much effort any one of the 454's I have can make 450hp @4500K and 500ftlbs at 4K
And that will feel like there is a JATO strapped to the back compared to the anemic 305 that is in it now.

Some times it's what you can afford. My engine is still totally stock ,haven't needed more enuf to pay for it,but, don't hurt to wish. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
